Pearl 2004 Pearl Export Drumset Reviews 5

I bought this drumset from www.samash.com. I paid $499.99 for a 22"x18" bass, 12x9, 13x11, and 16x16 toms, and a 5.5"x14" wood snare drum. The set did not come with hardware, but did include the floor tom legs and tom arms, as well as all the heads.

This Drumset is simply the best drumset for the money and the best drumset for hundreds of dollars more. Pearl makes the best drums in the world, hands-down. The first thing I noticed about this set was the thundering bass. It has a great low-end tone when tuned properly. The set also comes with wood bass drum hoops, which I was really impressed with. The 12 and 13" toms sound great, even with the factory heads, but I changed them out with some Evans G2 clear heads. The floor tom sounds equally good and when tuned just the right way can sound REALLY good! The snare has a nice thick sound that really cuts through the cymbals well. The coated snare factory head sounds great as well. All of the drums resonate really well and I am more than satisfied with this kit!!!

The only complaint that I have is that the toms are a little difficult to tune. It takes a while to get them tuned just right, but once you do they put out a really fat tone.

Excellent quallity all around. The covered finish is great, the tom arms are nice and sturdy, and shells are virtually flawless.

If you're like me and need a great semi-pro kit for modest money, then this is the set for you. Pearl has a great host of color options on the EX, EXR, and ELX export kits. Its definately a quality purchase that you wont regret!
